Center Point Fire Department Gives Air Packs and Fire Hose to Shades Valley Fire Science Academy
Center Point Fire Department Gives $20,000 in equipment to Shades Valley’s Fire Science Academy. Fire Chief Donnie West of the Center Point Fire Department has donated $20,000 worth of needed equipment to the Shades Valley Fire Science Academy, according to David Brasher SVHS fire science instructor.
“These air packs are essential for fire fighting, and no fireman can enter a hazardous area without them. These packs will give our students real-life on the job training which is invaluable, but additionally, they have given us 100 sections of 3’ fire hose for a total gift of 500 ‘ of training hose,” explains Brasher.
“We are grateful to Center Point and their collaboration and generosity in making Shades Valley’s fire science academy a training ground for the next generation of firefighters and for their up to date equipment donation for our students,” says Dr. Craig Pouncey, superintendent.
