Welcome to the 2016-2017 school year! JCIB is off to a great start and we appreciate the patience and support of everyone as we initiated the new online registration process. We are still working out the kinks but have high expectations that K12 will help us more fully utilize INow and its properties. Moving from the technical to the actual – after more than a year of planning and discussions, the Middle Years program opened this fall. Located at the old Pleasant Grove Middle School, the 6 – 8th grades have over 200 students who are beginning the IB programme! This is such an exciting time and will surely provide a well-prepared student base for JCIB. Things at JCIB are progressing at a brisk pace as usual. We are excited about the coming year: visits from college admission reps are in full swing; teachers are incorporating their learning from summer’s professional developments into classes and activities; digital signage will help keep everyone informed about upcoming events; our new website is operational; Approaches to Teaching & Learning are being instituted throughout the building; a growing academic booster club; reading nooks are popping up around the campus; the IB Learner Profile is at the center of activities in and out of the classrooms; and most of all the relationships of our community are thriving. We are nor a neighborhood school, but we are most certainly our own community – students find their niche here, and so does the faculty and staff.
